Play and Study Twixt Online
A lightweight guide to playing, practicing, and analyzing Twixt with Route 5.
Play Route 5What is Twixt?
Twixt is a connection strategy board game in which two players place pegs and create links while trying to build a continuous connection between their opposite sides of the board.
Route 5 provides a browser-based environment for playing and studying the game, with both a traditional board presentation and an optional 3D interpretation.
Play Twixt Online
Route 5 supports standard Twixt play on a 24×24 board. Its Classic mode presents the board in a familiar 2D style, while compact boards are available for faster games and practice sessions.
Play Route 5Practice Against AI
Route 5 includes a browser-based AI opponent for practice. Its neural-network model and search run locally in your browser rather than requiring server-side AI inference.
Compact-board AI is adapted from a model designed around the standard 24×24 game, so smaller boards are best treated as a practice feature.
Analyze Positions and Games
Route 5 provides position evaluation and percentage displays, game review, imported-game analysis, potential-link visualization, move experimentation, and analysis of completed games.
Learn Twixt
The interactive tutorial introduces knight's-move link geometry, creating multiple links from one peg, crossing rules, open nodes and potential connections, and basic connection-building concepts.
Open Route 5 and choose Learn from the main menu to start the tutorial.
Classic and 3D Modes
Classic mode presents the game in a familiar board-game format.
The optional 3D mode uses the same underlying connection-game concept but visualizes moves as towers, bridges and energy links on a planetary network.
Independent Project
Route 5 is inspired by the rules and strategic concepts of Twixt but is an independently developed game. Route 5 is not an official Twixt product. The Twixt name and related intellectual property belong to their respective rights holders.
Route 5 is not affiliated with or endorsed by Twixt, Little Golem, or TwixtLive except where specific integration permission is stated in the About panel in the main application.
